St. Gregory Mass Intentions Policy

Beginning January 1, 2022, the following policy will be followed for requesting and scheduling Masses at St. Gregory Parish:
 

1. Any person may request a maximum of twelve (12) Masses for a particular intention each calendar year.
2. Intentions may be scheduled up to one year in advance of when the request is submitted.
3. Mass intentions are requested by phone, email, mail.
4. One Sunday Mass each week and one Mass on each holy day of obligation will be offered for the people of St. Gregory parish. No other intentions may be added to this Mass.
5. Multi-intention Masses: Mass intentions can only be combined with the permission of those requesting the intentions. Multiple intentions should be scheduled for no more than TWO Masses per week. Therefore, two Masses each weekend will be designated as a multi-intention Mass. Weekday Masses will be for a single intention.

7. Holy Days of Obligation

• January 1 (Mary, Mother of God) – not obligatory when it falls on Saturday or Monday
• August 15 (Assumption) – not obligatory when it falls on Saturday or Monday
• November 1 (All Saints) – not obligatory when it falls on Saturday or Monday
• December 8 (Immaculate Conception) – always obligatory
• December 25 (Christmas) – always obligatory, see below

8. Multi-intention Masses will also be offered on the following occasions:
   1. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
   2. Easter Sunday
   3. November 2 (All Souls Day)
   4. 4:00 pm Mass on December 24^th (Christmas Vigil Mass)
   5. May 26 (Fr. Kien’s ordination anniversary): reserved for Fr. Kien’s intentions
9. When a scheduled Mass is not able to be celebrated, the intention for that Mass will be rescheduled for the next available day: either the next scheduled multi-intention Mass (if permission was given to combine the intention) or else the next Mass without an intention.
